Operator certification:

The Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993, Act no 85 of 1993, requires that all machinery operators must be competent and have a good understanding of all safety aspects of operating his or her machine to avoid risk or injury to themselves or others.

This certification can be carried out via a classroom environment or on the job training and evaluation.

At SLC International Training Services we prefer on the job training to minimize the impact on work programs or tasks and to carry out training and evaluation on the specific machine.  Then to evaluate appropriate skills and techniques applicable to that specific machine.

We believe this assessment, training and certification can be used in a positive way to ensure that all machinery is operated as the manufacturer intended and to identify small problems before they become big or costly problems with due care and attention to avoid downtime or injury.

This certification will be valid for both Cane and Timber Industries and be valid for a period of 24 months from date of issue.

Costs:

The cost per operator for machinery will be R1000 and R3.00 per km for travel if applicable.

Conclusion:

We believe in the concept of a partnership and improving all skill levels and safety while reducing the costs and we value your business.
